De Vrije Zee Primary School is centrally located close to the N1, in the Northern Suburb of Vrijzee, Goodwood. It has an age-old heritage and since its humble beginning in 1927, the school has strived to equip its learners on academic, sport, cultural and spiritual levels. The school vision:  Enter to Learn – Leave to Serve confirms the ethos of the school. We can proudly say that our learners and staff alike, diligently make this a part of their every-day life at De Vrije Zee Primary School.

Our history dates back to the previous century when Richmond Primary School (as it was then called) opened its doors with 26 learners and one educator.  In 1934 the new school building officially opened, with 5 classrooms and a total of 86 learners. The school’s name was officially changed to Raymond Primary School.

After a fire almost totally destroyed the school in 1980, it was re-built and renovated. The school thus became the now well-known, De Vrije Zee Primary School. De Vrije Zee Primary School is an English medium school catering for learners from Grade 4 to Grade 7.
